Homemade Saskatoon Berry jam with Homemade yogurt 💜
This is one way to use the abundance of Saskatoons that are out right now.
Or any wild fruit for that matter…
I first boiled them down and then strained what juice I could to make a syrup and with what was left over, which was a lot, because Saskatoons have so much pectin that most of the juices are bound up in this fibre, it actually ended up making its own perfect jam by just adding a touch of sweetness to it. Many people add pectin to jam but with these little berries you don’t need to!
This dish is a tasty way to get your pectin & probiotics!
